A great weekend, fininshed my first Round the Lake Taupo Cycle Classic, 160km in 4hrs and 3minutes, finished 29th over all, really pleased, I managed to stay in good groups all the way.
After lunch I went trail bike riding out in the forestry tracks with one of my first sponsors Bernard Fletcher from Descente paddles and his son Vincent, this was good fun, only the one crash.
Round Lake Rotorua Classic – Stuart O’ Grady was good enough to grace us with his presence, not very often you get the chance to ride along side a Tour de France legend and Olympic Gold medalist, this was a highlight for many of us.
My first race on a bike for three years, two laps of lake Rotorua, great race for me finishing a minute and three seconds behind the leaders, 41kph average speed.
